Dealing with Sensationalized Headlines: "Real Estate Agents Face A Reckoning"
Family and friends are asking me, "Mike, how are all these changes affecting your business? Is everything OK?"
With headlines like last week's Newsweek, "Real Estate Agents Face a Reckoning", it's no wonder!
People are often shocked when I say that nothing has really changed. And it's funny, because the Newsweek article mentions: "Even as the industry became more aware of these challenges...the majority still believed that any changes would be immaterial, and also take years to be implemented...With that in mind, we think the materiality of the changes and the rapidity of their implementation have caught most of the industry flat-footed."
Really? This source also states: "The most significant change to hit real estate agents is the requirement for buyer agents to enter written agreements with home shoppers at the beginning of the home search process." Exactly.
Lastly, they state: "Inexperienced agents, or those agents that are not good at pitching their value proposition, may face a difficult reality under this new way of doing business." Again, EXACTLY.
Join us as we discuss how to have these conversations, how to explain the news, and how to pitch your value proposition.
